Variety Profile
B. 'Misty Mauve' differs somewhat from other members of the brachyscome family in that its foliage is not as deeply cut and instead of a rambling habit it will form a neat, compact mound.
Australian bred, this hardy ground cover produces larger than normal flowers in various shades of mauve giving a charming 'dappled' effect. Flowering is profuse from early autumn to late spring making a wonderful display in low borders, rockeries or in containers.

Cultural Care
Prefers a well drained soil (ideally well composted) in full sun or dappled shade. Will benefit from regular watering and applications of slow release fertiliser after pruning. This is best done in late summer or early spring to keep the plant vigorous and initiate new flowers. Clipping off old flower heads will also promote new flushes. Keep the area around plants free of weeds.

Plant Uses
Brachyscomes make an excellent contribution to many garden styles including cottage or native. Most spectacular when used in group plantings but also ideal for rockeries, sleeper walls or for edging paved areas. Suitable for container planting.
In native gardens B. 'Misty Mauve' can be used in conjunction with Kangaroo Paws, grasses such as Carex or Pennisetum, Grevilleas and Banksias. For cottage gardens use as a compliment to tufted plants such as Iris or around the base of white, pink or blue flowering perennials.
